More adventures in San Francisco

Yesterday me and a few of my fellow Laboritorians went on a trip to San Francisco. Let's see - I've been there about 4 times now. The day started off rocky, first it was when a certain HALF KOREAN chick woke up LATE! Then when we got totally lost in San Francisco, what had happened was the night before I got directions from mapquest.com to go straight to a parking garage (ANYONE who's even seen what the roads are like in SF knows what a b*tch driving there can be!) but traffic was terrible and we missed the EXIT we were supposed to take, so it took like an hour to find parking! While we were driving around hopelessly on empty stomaches - we passed the hotel me an my family stayed at :) then we FINALLY found parking in China Town! Good thing we parked there too - we found possibly the GREATEST Chinese restaurants in China town! The food there was AWSOME! After eating we went strolling around China Town - stopping at every other store to check out bootleg dvds and CDs and other Chinese stuff that looked cool. Shkurygin found the DVD Kung Fu Hustle (AWSOME AWSOME HILAREOUS KUNG FU MOVIE!) for $7.00 (lucky guy - I'm gonna steal it from him before we graduate outta here!).

After 3 hours in China Town we headed down to Pier 39 - it wasn't a smooth ride down there like we had hoped - but at least we made it there ALIVE (the drivers and pedestrians in SF are EVIL). On our way from the parking lot to Pier 39 Schwebke made an astonishing find! She found a hobo's sign (ya know those peices of card board that beggars hold while sitting on the side of the road!) and she took it! We ended up forcing Shkurygin to hold onto it, we also have a nice pic of him with it ;D (by the way Shkurygin do you STILL have that hobo sign??? If you do then that's gross!). I went back to Na Hoku and found the necklace that I've been drooling over since the day I first tried it on - and I bought it. It was the MOST expensive thing that I have ever bought for myself. I felt guilty for buying something so expensive - BUT I figured with my one year anniversary in the Air Force just around the corner I deserved to treat myself to something nice. We probably stopped at EVERY store there was (Poor Shkurygin stuck on a Saturday shopping with girls). Then around 6ish we left.

It was a fun day, except that we accidentaly left Lucas (I'm SO SO SOOOOOO SORRY BOUT THAT! We thought for sure that you said you WOULDN'T go! And I'm sure I told you on Friday that we were leavin SUPER EARLY!). Life has sorta been down in the dumps , not just for me, but for a lot of people. I had no idea that I wasn't the only one bein depressed and feelin sorry for myself; it's like some dark cloud has been hanging over the med lab students, whether it be because of work-related issues, stress, or just plain cr*p that happens in life. But for that one day in SF I hope that they were able to just able to get away from it all - just forget about their problems and have fun. I know I had lots of fun, bein out that whole day, has just re-energized me. I want to thank Lay for not getting us killed in SF - she handled those stupid driver/pedestrian people like a pro (especially that STEEP AS HELL street!). And I wanna thank that hobo for his/her sign, it really was the high light of our day - we had an unusual amount of fun with it. I want to thank Shwebke for just bein there - yer really cool! And Shkurygin for buying Kung Fu Hustle - that movie really was awsome and I KNOW you're going to give it to me :D because I'm just kwel like that. Well the only thing I have to do this week is prepare myself for the ACTUAL driving test, and Parasitology 0__o///. Not only does it have THE HARDEST PRACTICAL (TRICHROME SLIDES!!! Yikes!) but it's also the NASTIEST! PARASIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
